Goals for the AEA

Executive Board:

  • Increase involvement of reps in AEA/School Board/PTA.
  • Promote collaborative approach to problem solving in buildings.
  • Provide opportunities for reps to be involved in leadership Activities.
  • Communicate with, and support, building reps in their roles.
  • Increase efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Increase participation in community activities in order to strengthen community connections and awareness.
  • Support Rep Council goals.
  • Educate and support members concerning their legal and professional rights and responsibilities.
  • Offer social/family entertainment opportunities.
  • Be a "sounding board" for member concerns during "Liaison Links."
  • Support continued improvement to members’ compensation, salaries and working conditions.

Representative Council:

  • Foster collaborative approach to problem solving using site-based decision making.
  • Increase involvement through meaningful/action oriented agenda.
  • Increase community support for education.
  • Educate people about the contract/new language.
  • Promote professional growth.
  • Provide opportunities for members to attend local, state, and national assemblies, trainings, and conventions.
  • Involve principals and buildings reps in joint activities:
  • Ask principals to publish AEA meeting dates in bulletins and in school Calendars
  • Share useful information with principals.
  • Share building concerns, when assistance is needed.
  • Support continued improvement to members’ compensation, salaries and working conditions.
